For Immediate Release:

MANLOVE MAKES IT 50
For a range of services and clients, Bay Area marketing firm wins
14 more awards from advertising industry peers

March 3, 2009 – The streak is still alive. On Feb. 21, John Manlove Marketing & Communications had yet another strong showing in the American Advertising Federation — Houston’s annual awards show, also known as the Addys.

This year, the Pasadena-based agency won 14 awards, which makes for a total of 50 Addys over the past three years. In 2007, JMMC took home 19 local and 5 district awards; in 2008, it won 12 local awards.

This year’s honors comprised two Gold awards, five Silver awards and seven Citations of Excellence. They were given for a large range of JMMC’s products and services, including print and Web design. Winning clients included The Woodlands Development Company, the No. 1 master-planned community in Texas, and Cameron, one of the largest oil and gas service companies in the world. JMMC has worked with both clients for many years.

“Doing award-winning work is about ‘chemistry,’ and right now, we have plenty of that at JMMC,” said John Manlove, CEO. “Not only do we have a team that really enjoys working together, but we have great clients that give us the freedom to do award-winning work. Winning awards can be like predicting lightening — you never know when and where it will strike. But over the last three years, with 50 Addys, we have had a virtual lightening storm.”

The big winner at the show was a 190-page hardcover book produced for Cameron. As part of its 2007 annual report, which highlighted the company’s international business, JMMC planned and implemented a world photography tour. With weeklong shoots in eight countries on four continents, JMMC came home with an incredible library of cultural and industrial photographs for Cameron. While many were used in the annual report, there were plenty left over.

JMMC used them to design and produce a hardcover book, Cameron: Discover Our World, which the company then used as a special gift for partners, investors and employees. The book won a total of six awards for JMMC, including both Golds.

“Our success is built on a proven process — Clarify–Brand–Reach — which involves our clients at every step,” said Gina Manlove, vice president. “Our clients work with seasoned professionals who are driven to deliver successful campaigns. JMMC is pleased that they are also award-winning ones.”
